A bit more than 20 years ago I had the fortunate opportunity to play one of Doug Irwin’s guitars. It was the Wolf, Jerry’s guitar that had not been played on stage for a number of years. Doug’s guitars are my favorite of all the guitars I’ve picked up over the years. I recently broke out a tape recording I made while doodling with the Wolf. here are a few guitar bites from that day. I was so thrilled to play this guitar and hardly stopped for 3 hours, except to flip the tape…this is merely a recording of me playing licks and practicing the stuff I practice, not trying to be particularly musical or do a “professional” recording by any stretch of the imagination. What I like best is the tonal qualities of the guitar. It sounds like the guitar it is even though I’m playing it my way…
